Simulcast now in Johannesburg as well

For students and designers under the age of 25, there's also the Young Designers' Simulcast, which is a live video stream of the conference proceedings to a second auditorium, offering discounted access to the world's most creative minds. For the first time, there will also be a simulcast venue at the University of Johannesburg.

Expo offers home-grown design

The Design Expo, from 25-27 February 2011 at R60 a ticket, will showcase the best in bespoke, high-quality South African design, home-grown innovation and creativity. The 2010 exhibition had 280 exhibitors and 35 000 visitors. Apart from the design on display, a range of attractions including fashion shows, a film festival, kids workshops and designer food, as well as the very popular Pecha Kucha presentations will offer family entertainment.

Decade of design

The Design Indaba magazine will celebrate 10 years of publishing in 2011 and the event edition will pay tribute to the design stars that have shared their vision with it over the years.
