Adobe competition sparks creatives

With R100 000 in products and prizes up for grabs, the Adobe South Africa Go Create competition encourages entrants to be as creative as possible with the theme 'My Creative Suite', reflecting the role Adobe plays in the creative process in design, video, Web or photography disciplines.

The overall winners per category will be selected by public vote. The task of developing the Web interface was contracted to Johannesburg-based multimedia agency Digital Dynamite. Its MD, Brian Pfeiffer, says the approach was unique, as it is both dynamic and real time, and has the sophistication to develop and build a community for Adobe. The system has built-in intelligence, which tracks and tallies votes in real time. Once an individual submission receives 100 or more votes, it automatically moves to the Hall of Fame section.

The site is designed to epitomise the functionality the products bring to the digital realm, with users being able to upload their creative efforts, vote for their designs of choice, and spread the word through social media sites such as Facebook.

The online competition has three categories open to creative professionals, students and agencies to spark their collective creative genius. The competition closes on 30 September 2010. Entrants can go to www.gocreate.co.za to register.
