No beer drought — SAB

It looks like beer drinkers can relax; according to SAB the country will not run out of beer over the festive season.

The brewer has about 97% of the beer market and recently experienced glass shortages and tight supplies, but the situation has eased.

Communications manager Janine van Stolk said all the company's breweries were running at almost 100% capacity. “We are absolutely not going to run out of beer.”

However, outlets might have to order more often than before instead of stockpiling, as the recent glass shortage meant the brewer was not able to build as many stock days as usual. About 44% more beer is sold this month than in an average month.
