Salesforce acquires Slack

Cloud-based software company, Salesforce, has acquired Slack Technologies Inc. As part of Salesforce, Slack will be positioned to accelerate and extend its mission to make work life simpler, more pleasant and more productive.

The deal will enable both Salesforce and Slack to deliver the Slack-first Customer 360 that gives a single platform for connecting employees, customers and partners with each other and the apps they use every day, all within their existing workflows.

Slack will continue to operate under the Slack brand and be led by its CEO and co-founder, Stewart Butterfield.
