Bizcom is site of choice...

When the Advertising Standards Authority wanted to disseminate its ruling on an issue with the disclaimer appearing on the packaging of Reckitt Benckiser's Dettol Hand Liquid Wash, it selected two of South Africa's major newspapers, the Sunday Times and Rapport as its print media of choice, and Bizcommunity.com as its online medium of choice.

Meanwhile, dishonest ISPs and those cyber-squatters and spammers who drive us mad could be in for a tougher time if new draft regulations come into force. Comment from interested parties has been invited.

Simone Puterman and Rod Baker

Zanda - a body and soul of music   MUSIC
[Ilva Pieterse] Twenty-six year old Zanda Traut played her heart out to fans last week Thursday, 12 November 2009, at Cafe Barcelona in Pretoria. It's been a while since Zanda did a live show - between playing lead guitar for Robbie Wessels and working as a producer at Manley Studios, it looks like little time should be left for her own creative projects.

Be a BizLounge winner at Synergy Live!   MOVIES
Are you going to the Synergy Live Music Festival this November? Well if you aren't, you're gonna miss out on one helluva party. With a line-up that includes Fokofpolisiekar, The Rudimentals, those dirty Dirty Skirts along with the likes of SA's sickest Djs: Haezer, Craig de Sousa and Killer Robot - to mention only a few - it's bound to induce absolute mayhem in Franschhoek.

Who said old dogs can't be fun?   MOVIES
[Zeenat Ebrahim] Disney does it again! Best-known for his comedy roles, Robin Williams stars alongside John Travolta in this family comedy. There is no question that with two great actors in the cast and an original script, this movie is bound to be a hit. Travolta's daughter, Ella Bleu Travolta (Emily), makes her debut as one of the twins and his wife (Kelly Preston) also stars in the movie.

Albert Frost, our home-grown superhero   MUSIC
[Sindy Peters] Our very own local guitar hero, Albert Frost has come a long, long way since first playing with his father in the Blues Broers back in 1994. He's shared the stage with the likes of the Rolling Stones and REM and collaborated with another South African legend, Arno Carstens, producing an album that he believes changed their lives.

Plush in summer SA tour   MUSIC
Following the return to SA of vocalist Rory Eliot, Plush will once again be touring South Africa between 27 November and 19 December 2009.

What goes UP must come down   MOVIES
[Sindy Peters] I missed the 3D circuit-run of UP, so I had to settle for the 2D version. It was a great family fun movie providing you with the warm fuzzy sensation synonymous with Disney. UP is on its way out, so if you don't catch it now, you'll have to wait for it to come out on DVD or on the home theatre screen. Other good-looking 3D animated movies playing right now include A Christmas Carol and Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs.

The multi-faceted Mix ‘n Blend   MUSIC
[Marcello-Calvin Adams] Meet Jonathan, Kevin and Ross, the musically talented Cape Town DJ trio who are mixing up the music scene with their many genres of sound. I managed to speak to Jon and Kevin just to find out a bit of background and what's currently happening with their group.
