White will perform at The Old Park Station in Johannesburg on Friday, 11 December, before heading to Kirstenbosch Botanical Gardens in Cape Town on Monday, 14 December.
The shows will give South African audiences their first opportunity to experience one of modern rock's most distinctive and influential performers live.
A major name for South Africa's live music calendar
White's arrival adds another high-profile international artist to South Africa's summer concert calendar.
Known for his raw guitar playing, distinctive vocals and unpredictable live performances, White has built a career spanning more than two decades — both as a solo artist and through some of rock music's most influential projects.
He first rose to international prominence as one half of The White Stripes, alongside Meg White. The duo's stripped-back, blues-infused sound and unmistakable visual identity helped redefine garage rock in the early 2000s and produced a catalogue of songs that would influence a generation of musicians.
White subsequently expanded his musical world through The Raconteurs and The Dead Weather, while establishing a successful and critically acclaimed solo career.
His live sets are known for their intensity and spontaneity, often moving between material from his solo catalogue and music associated with his various bands.
From The White Stripes to a solo career
As a solo artist, White has continued to push across genres, moving between blues, garage rock, punk, folk and experimental music.
His solo catalogue includes Blunderbuss, Lazaretto, Boarding House Reach, Fear of the Dawn, Entering Heaven Alive and No Name.
His latest studio album, Frozen Charlotte, continues that creative evolution. Released this year, the album was introduced with the new single Neighbors Blues.
More than two decades after emerging as one of rock's most recognisable figures, White remains an artist known for resisting predictability — something that has also become a defining feature of his live performances.
