Accenture Song caps standout year with five gold Loeries for Philipstown

Accenture Song South Africa has capped a standout year on the global awards circuit with 15 wins at the 2026 Loeries, led by 13 for The Philipstown WireCar Grand Prix.

Created with the Philipstown WireCar Foundation, the campaign won five Golds, a Craft Gold, four Silvers, two Bronzes and two Craft Certificates. Its Golds spanned Design, Digital, Live Events and Integrated Campaign, with Craft Gold for Use of Technology.

At its heart is Philipstown’s annual wire-car race, reimagined across film, gaming, technology and live experience. The work created a digital version of the town and took a distinctly South African tradition to audiences far beyond the Karoo.

“Philipstown has been on some of the biggest creative stages in the world this year, and there’s something powerful about bringing this recognition home,” says Tseliso Rangaka, chief creative officer of Accenture Song South Africa. “A wire-car race in a small Karoo town has become one of the most celebrated South African creative stories of the year. It has travelled because it is unmistakably ours, but the imagination, ingenuity and possibility at its heart are universal.”

The Loeries add to an exceptional international run for Philipstown, including Silver and Bronze Lions at Cannes Lions, a Titanium shortlist, three Gold Pencils among 13 honours at The One Show, and recognition at the Webby Awards, Tribeca X, the Clio Awards and BrandStorytelling.

Developed in collaboration with Allan Gray, A Seat at the Table received two Loeries, including recognition for Audio Experiences/Activations and a Craft Certificate for Sound Design. The Women's Day experience, created to honour pioneering South African women, used binaural audio to bring their stories to life through the seats they once occupied. The campaign also received a D&AD Wood Pencil in Spatial Design earlier this year.

And Philipstown’s year is not finished. The documentary is one of four productions worldwide nominated for Sports Documentary at the 54th International Emmy Awards, with the winner announced in New York on 23 November.
