What's in a name... it's still all meatThe meat mislabelling " name and shame" has finally been released, and I have to say it comes with no surprises: all major supermarket chains have been implicated. Although this is not great news for consumers, I suspect there's some degree of relief within the retail industry that no one brand has been singled out as the culprit. What I'd be interested in finding out is how this has this affected shoppers' purchases and supermarket sales. A wry smile and "How is your water buffalo?" has become a common quip around my dinner table and the office lunchroom. I've always been under the impression boerewors is a mystery meat... much like polony. And while I may stop and think for a moment longer about what else might be in my mince, invariably I buy it anyway. Because I'm no closer to knowing if my particular branch is at fault, or even which product has been "contaminated". So, the question remains: what are you having for dinner tonight? Shan Radcliffe, Group Head - Retail
