George Rautenbach
George has been involved in advertising and design for 17 years. He started his career at Ogilvy's Promotional Campaigns in '94 then in '95 became a founder member of a small design agency called The Canned Chilli Co. That company later became the start up core for TBWA Hunt Lascaris's Tequila.
George spent 10 years at Tequila rising to the ranks of Creative Director, while honing his skills at design, activation and advertising. In 2005 he became a founder member and a partner at Switch Advertising, - a division of the Switch Group. He worked there for three years before defecting to Ogilvy's Brand Activation in August 2008 as Executive Creative Director. A short marriage that only lasted a year!
In March 2010 George became a founder member and creative partner at Sunshinegun. A small but focused specialist design, branding and marketing company that offers incredible value to its international and local portfolio of client.
In his career George has worked on leading brands: SAB, BMW, Landrover, Nissan, Subaru, Mini, VW, Audi, SAT, Seychelles Marketing Authority, MTN, Standard Bank, FNB, Investec, SABC, Revlon, Nike, , Cadbury, Coke, Fanta, Sprite, Valpré, Steers, Brazilian Café, Daily Sun, Spoornet, SA Post Office, Brand South Africa, MNET, DSTV, Woolworths, Panasonic, Sun International, Tsogo Sun, City Lodge Group, Legacy Group, Hotel Dona Ana etc.
George is a senior judge at the Loerie Awards having judged many times in the Design and Experiential categories. He was also a South African representative at the Cannes Young Creatives competition in Cannes (The Brazilians stole our concept and won Gold!). He has won at numerous awards during his career, including Gold Loeries, Gold London Itl, Gold NY Festivals, Cannes finalist, as well as in book status for D&AD and The One Show awards.
