Show profile Hide profileI started my banking career with Barclays where I performed most clerical and supervisory duties (Data Input, Machinist, General Ledger, Enquiries, Telling, Exchange Control and Check Clerk) up to 1996 when I was appointed Credit Risk Analyst. I was briefly appointed to Assistant Credit Risk Manager in 1998 before moving to Mutare as Assistant Manager in the same year. In 1999 I was appointed Personal Lending Team Manager responsible for setting up the Consumer Loans department. I then moved back to Risk Management Division where I was appointed Credit Risk Manager in 2000 and worked until I left to join Intermaket Banking Corporation in November 2002.
From Intermarket Banking Corporation i moved to ZB Bank, and then to Afrasia Zimbabwe Holdings Limited where my main role was to provide comprehensive and synergistic support service to the Group (AfrAsia Bank, Microking Finance and AfrAsia Capital Management), ensuring effective and efficient management of the Group's risks and controls in line with business' risk appetite and to enhance the risk and control culture across the business units, providing necessary challenge, advisory support and oversight to the Group. I also coordinated credit and operational risk management processes and business continuity and disaster recovery activities, ensuring an effective framework of controls.
