SACAU welcomes new board members at AGM

At its annual general meeting on 26 May 2017, the Southern African Confederation of Agriculture Unions announced its appointment of Alfred Kapichira Banda from the Farmers Union of Malawi as one of its new board members. The AGM followed a two-day conference on future farming skills and was hosted in collaboration with the African Farmers Association of South Africa and AgriSA.

Sinare Sinare from the Agricultural Council of Tanzania and Berean Mukwende from the Zimbabwe Farmers Union were also elected VP and ordinary board member, respectively. SACAU also admitted new members; Fikambanana Fampivoarana ny Tantsaha of Madagascar and the Botswana Farmers' Association.
