Drug (tik) awareness campaign

The facts will be obtained from the most respected authorities on the topic and the language used will be direct, simple and easy to understand and follow. For the sake of driving the message home and getting the message understood by as wide a range of people as possible we will produce the CD in English, Afrikaans and Xhosa and if the funding is available will also produce a SASL (South African Sign Language) version for the deaf and hearing impaired and a Braille version booklet for the blind.

The programme will inform, educate and give the listener a complete A–Z of this horrific drug its consequences and its effects on the mind and body of users.

It is intended to produce 300,000 units in order to get into as many homes as possible.

The idea is to empower parents, teachers and learners so that everyone can take an active role in identifying users, pushers and abusers in order to turn the whole Western Cape community into activists against tik.

Our conviction is that if everyone really knows the symptoms and the consequences of use and abuse, collectively we can drive this vile addiction out of our community once and for all.

We are also more than happy to work with any organisation or structure that has similar goals including such groups as the Mannenberg Community Forum.
