Industrial Designer

Are you a designer who thinks in nets, folds, and structural forms as much as visuals? We’re looking for a Creative Designer with industrial design experience to join our in-house team in Epping, Cape Town, designing and converting engineered POS cardboard products.

About the role:
You’ll design and develop cardboard/corrugated packaging and engineered products from concept through to production-ready structural design — balancing creative visual execution with technical structural accuracy.

 What you’ll do:
 Design and engineer cardboard structures (packaging, POS displays, custom cartons, die-line development)

• Create structural die-lines and nets, ensuring designs convert accurately on production equipment
• Develop creative concepts and graphics to complement structural designs
• Prototype and test samples for strength, fit, and functionality
• Liaise with production/conversion teams to ensure designs are manufactural and cost-effective
• Manage multiple design projects from brief through to final approved artwork and structure

Skills required:
What we’re looking for

• 3–5 years’ experience in a creative/design role, with industrial design experience
• Experience with structural packaging design and die-line/net development (corrugated or cardboard preferred)
• Proficiency in Adobe Illustrator/InDesign; experience with structural design software (e.g. ArtiosCAD or similar) advantageous
• Understanding of print and conversion processes for cardboard/corrugated substrates
• Strong portfolio showing both 2D graphic work and 3D/structural design thinking
• Based in Cape Town — this is an in-house, on-site role in Epping
• Detail-oriented, hands-on, and comfortable working closely with production teams
• Own transport is essential
