Position: Vinyl and Wallpaper Installer / Applicator
Department: Production and Installation

Role Overview

We are looking for a skilled, reliable and detail-oriented Vinyl and Wallpaper Installer / Applicator to join our team.

The successful candidate will be responsible for the professional installation and application of self-adhesive vinyl, printed graphics, wallpaper, wall coverings, window graphics, signage and other branded materials across a variety of retail, commercial, office and event environments.

This is a hands-on position requiring excellent workmanship, accuracy, problem-solving ability and pride in delivering a high-quality finished product.

Requirements

Key responsibilities

• Install and apply self-adhesive vinyl, printed vinyl, wallpaper and wall coverings.
• Apply graphics to walls, windows, glass, boards, panels and other suitable surfaces.
• Install window manifestations, frosting and decorative films.
• Install retail and promotional graphics, decals and branding elements.
• Prepare surfaces correctly before application, including cleaning, measuring and assessing surface suitability.
• Accurately measure installation areas and correctly position artwork and graphics.
• Trim, cut, align and join vinyl and wallpaper accurately.
• Ensure wallpaper patterns, panels and printed graphics align correctly.
• Apply vinyl using appropriate wet or dry application techniques.
• Remove existing vinyl, wallpaper and graphics where required.
• Identify and resolve installation issues such as bubbles, wrinkles, lifting edges, incorrect alignment and unsuitable surfaces.
• Work from supplied drawings, layouts, measurements and installation instructions.
• Check printed materials and graphics before installation for size, quality and accuracy.
• Protect client premises, fixtures and surrounding surfaces during installations.
• Maintain tools and installation equipment in good working condition.
• Keep work areas clean and professional during and after installations.
• Complete installations within agreed deadlines while maintaining high quality standards.
• Photograph completed installations where required for quality control and project records.
• Communicate any site problems, measurement discrepancies or installation concerns to the relevant project or production manager.
• Work effectively both independently and as part of an installation team.
• Travel to client sites as required.

Skills and experience

The ideal candidate should have:

• Previous experience in vinyl application, wallpaper installation, signage installation or a similar field.
• Strong experience working with self-adhesive vinyl and large-format printed graphics.
• Experience installing wallpaper and wall coverings would be highly advantageous.
• Excellent measuring, cutting, trimming and alignment skills.
• A strong eye for detail and finishing.
• Knowledge of different surfaces and the appropriate application methods for each.
• Ability to use installation tools including squeegees, knives, rulers, levels, heat guns and other application equipment.
• Ability to read measurements, layouts and basic technical drawings.
• Good practical problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work accurately under pressure and meet deadlines.
• Good communication and teamwork skills.
• A professional attitude when working on client premises.

Physical requirements

The position requires the ability to:

• Work on ladders and at height where necessary.
• Stand for extended periods.
• Bend, stretch and work in various installation positions.
• Lift and handle rolls of vinyl, wallpaper, boards and installation equipment.
• Work on-site in retail, commercial, office, exhibition and other environments.
