CPA update

The Association for Communication and Advertising (ACA) is hosting the breakfast workshop on the CPA to assist agencies and their clients understand its impact on the consumer legislative framework and what it means to the advertising and communications profession.

The workshop, which takes place at the Ulwazi Auditorium in Randburg, will cover the role of the National Consumer Commission, its jurisdiction and functions, an overview of the CPA, the application of the Act, definitions, restrictions, consumers' rights, marketing do's and don'ts and more.

Odette van der Haar, CEO of the ACA said, "Given the current economic climate, brands cannot afford disgruntled consumers. The new CPA must be clearly understood by marketing, advertising and communications practitioners because it affects the way business is conducted with consumers."
