Frankly, my dear, it's a new look at oldies

Launching in Johannesburg on Thursday, 24 February 2011, TCM Pop Up Cinema is a cinematic experience that offers free tickets to 150 aficionados of classic cinema. For those registering, the website will provide clues as to the title of the show. The selected guests will be given the location and dress code in advance but will have to guess the movie.

"Enjoying film is not just about buying an expensive ticket and sitting in the dark. We want to give our audience a completely new movie-going experience. This will bring the romance and adventure back to the big screen; creating a setting that allows audiences not to merely view the movie but to become a part of the comedy, action, tears and laughter," said Alan Musa, VP and GM, Middle East, Africa and Pan Region for Turner Broadcasting Systems.

The show will travel throughout South Africa in 2011, popping up in different locations to allow people from all parts of the country to experience everything from cult classics to old favourites, Oscar winners to sci-fi gems - screenings that will feature all the very best of TCM (Turner Classic Movies).

To encourage viewers to work out exactly what the movie is going to be, there are a couple of well-placed hints on www.tcmeurope.com/F/popupcinema, www.facebook.com/TCMAfrica and @TCMAfrica on Twitter.
