Worldwide digital printing industry first, now available in SA

Copy-Type Electronics, the sole importer of Toshiba copiers, printers, fax machines and Duplo duplicators, has launched the first suction-fed digital duplicator in the world.

"This is an industry first," says Sean Sequeira, Duplo product specialist at Copy-Type Electronics. "This new mechanism is a lot more reliable than friction feeding and also cuts down on maintenance time therefore creation faster production times."

The recently launched Duprinter DP-460H, can operate at full speed within 1 minute of switching it on, making it an ideal machine for medium to short run printing. It's speed settings range from 45 to 120 pages per minute for rapid printing of documentation. It can easily handle paper stock ranging from 53gsm NCR (non-carbonised) up to 210 gsm card.

It is ideal for the small printer environment as it allows for shorter runs and has the capability of printing on non-carbonised stock. The shorter run lengths save on extra stock and removes client restriction in that the smaller printers can now provide for smaller batch requirements in a cost-effective manner. "The same amount of work can now be done in less time, therefore saving tremendously on costs," says Sequeira.

Of the entry-level Duplo machines available in the country, 90% of them are sold to schools according to Sequeira. "It's important to understand that this machine is not a photocopier. It's a mini printing device and is therefore not economical for one or two copies," he adds.

Duplo International is renowned for its paper handling capability. Rentals from R 3 088.00 + VAT per month. It is the perfect solution for smaller printing houses, schools, churches and funeral parlours.
