2017 #TEDxYouthCT to acknowledge importance of embracing SA's diversity

Themed 'Embracing Diversity', the 2017 #TEDxYouthCT event will see eight young speakers take to the stage to share their take on the importance of embracing diversity as South Africans. Speakers will unpack topics such as gender inequality, understanding societal structures, discovering self-love and exploring multiplicity in design.

2017 #TEDxYouthCT to acknowledge importance of embracing SA's diversity

“Giving back to the local community is an integral part of this year’s experience,” says Sian Gibbs, curator of the 2017 TEDxYouth@CapeTown event. “Our very motto is ‘for the youth, by the youth.”

Parallel to the speaker workshops and event run-up, the TEDxYouth@CapeTown team is actively campaigning a ‘Pile of Books’ drive to benefit the Hanover Park Secondary School, with all ticket sales supporting this initiative. “We challenge the Cape Town community to donate reading and educational books to help us fill the shelves of the school library.”
