Google, don't fund evil - protestors
17 scientists, all part of Google's Science Communication Fellows program, have signed a letter addressed to Google CEO Larry Page and executive chairman Eric Schmidt denouncing the internet giant's recent fundraiser for the re-election campaign of senior US senator James Inhofe. Inhofe is a firm believer that human activities do not cause climate change.
In protest of the political partnership, petitioners have used a play on Google's corporate slogan, "Don't be evil," to get their point across: "Don't fund evil."
According to The Guardian, "Proceeds of the lunch, priced at $250 to $2,500, will benefit the Republican Jim Inhofe, who calls climate change a 'hoax'".
