Now hiring for the workplace of tomorrow: 2017's Future of HR Awards winners
The lively awards ceremony, MC'd by media personality “TK” (Tarryn Kay Trussell) of GoodhopeFM, directed a spotlight on South Africa's most committed, effective and inspiring leaders in human capital management, with diverse awards categories honouring HR teams, rising stars, industry legends and charismatic CEOs. This year, the “innovation” aspect of nominees' entries was particularly scrutinised by the judges, against the backdrop of an industry facing more digital disruption than just about any other (HR practitioners with an affinity for digital can now harness the advantages of an HR software and tools market worth $14 billion).
Tech aside, a focus on people and their potential will always remain “the heart” of HR, and the judging criteria also appraised HR practitioners, companies and public sector organisations across an array of more traditional factors such as employee engagement, employee wellness, skills and learning initiatives and workplace culture.
A host of business leaders, industry experts, VIPs and media representatives applauded last night's winners of 11 coveted Future of HR trophies inside Birchwood Hotel's Serengeti Lapa, while being treated to a lavish dinner and the a capella artistry of award-winning ensemble, Just 6.
