Business Report says that the migrants are offered less than the minimum wage to work on farms. It quotes Albert Tshidavhu, chief director of provincial operations in Limpopo as saying that the farmers are disregarding South Africa's labour laws.
He said that on payday, the farmers would trump-up charges of theft against their employees and, in cahoots with local police, get them arrested and deported without pay despite the fact that they have worked for several weeks to earn the wage.
