Morris popped onto South African television screens in 1984 as a continuity presenter for the SABC, before moving over to M-Net in 1986. During her time at the group she served in various capacities as head of media and external relations, programme acquisitions executive, broadcaster and producer until 2011.

Her broadcasting experience includes seven years as anchor of Carte Blanche Africa, anchor of the Miss World Pageant 1992 and 1993. Entrepreneurial experience includes ownership and production of the Miss South Africa Pageant from 1994 until 2000. She was approached to become custodian of the pageant shortly before the country's first elections with the purpose of establishing the brand as a national symbol of excellence.

Strong leadership skills

More recently she co-owned a television production company that was responsible for a weekly entertainment magazine programme for DStv, fashion programmes including Mozambique and New York fashion week as well as travel programmes, biographies and documentaries. At present, she produces television programmes independently.

"Morris has established herself as a business woman with strong leadership skills, vision and integrity. We are very proud to have her on the Leapfrog team and believe that her addition to the board of directors is not only a strong vote of confidence, but also integral to our growth in future," says Jan le Roux, CEO of Leapfrog Property Group.
