SA IT sector just keeps on growing
South Africa's information technology (IT) sector saw revenues rise by 10,7% to R68,7 billion according to an article published in Business Day. Quoting a research report from BMI-TechKnowledge, the IT market expected to grow at a compound annual rate of 7,6% and reach R99,1 billion by 2015.
The report estimates IT revenues will reach R75,5 billion this year and, while security concerns are growing for companies, it says that improving business efficiency is a priority for IT users, with consumers and small businesses, spending significantly on IT solutions.
The Business Day article says that the market for computer hardware rose to R22,9 billion last year and accounts for about a third of expenditure within the IT sector.
