Software AG commits to GovTech
The ninth annual GovTech 2014 conference carries the theme of '[em]powering government through technology'. "Software AG continues to support the State Information Technology Agency (SITA) and GovTech, and believes that this event creates an ideal platform for businesses and government to showcase their latest information and communication technology (ICT) innovations and developments, with a special focus on informing public sector and governance initiatives," explained Mohamed Cassoojee, vice-president and country manager of Software AG South Africa.
Software AG, whose interactive stand will be displayed in the main expo hall of the ICC, intends to foster a greater understanding of how government and municipalities can best utilise ICT technologies to improve on streamlining and integrating processes, which, ultimately, lead to improved service delivery for the public.
Government-based initiatives
"We will emphasise this through showcasing our collaboration with the Ekurhuleni Metropolitan Municipality (EMM), among other significant government-based initiatives, where a number of successful software solutions have been rolled out across a variety of government divisions," said Cassoojee. "These systems have been implemented to boost productivity, enable more efficient communication and integration between departments, and improve on the municipality's ability to effectively use data and extend the insight gained to drive action."
The company's work within the development of process technology solutions in the EMM has essentially helped elevate the municipality to a centre of digital process excellence. Through this successful and pioneering project, Software AG is able to share unique and innovative knowledge to stakeholders from all spheres of local business and government.
"The opportunities for improving technology and fast-tracking services in the public sector are boundless, and we are excited to highlight our unique insights from our experience in these areas, as well as gain knowledge through the sharing of information with other key industry players," Cassoojee continued. "Software AG has played an integral part in the development of technology platforms across a variety of government sectors, and is ideally positioned to add real value to the future of ICT in governance and service delivery," he concluded.
