Former gang leader Staggie takes cleaning job
Staggie was sentenced in 2003 to 15 years in prison on charges of kidnapping and rape, and in 2004, he received another sentence of 13 years for gun theft.
The sentences ran concurrently, and he was released to serve a term of day parole from 23 September to March next year.
Pastor Ivan Waldeck, 46, owner of Ukonwaba Investments, said on Wednesday (25 September) that he had delivered a letter confirming that he had offered Staggie permanent employment, to the department of correctional services.
"He will work as a general cleaner because he has no previous experience. He will start on 26 September. His working hours are from 8am to 4.30pm," Waldeck said.
