Henley Business School retains global ranking

The latest FT Executive Education rankings have once again placed Henley Business School in the top 40 business schools worldwide. Notable areas of performance for Henley were education quality, international footprint, female participants and learning environment.
Henley Business School retains global ranking

"Rankings come and go and they certainly are not the be-all and end-all," says Prof Jon Foster-Pedley, dean and director of Henley Business School Africa. "It's encouraging to hear what we're doing right but, more importantly, rankings help us to learn about what our customers value and where there is room for us to improve."

Continued growth, diversification

One of the school's chief ambitions is to improve continually the excellence of its learning experience, which is reflected in improvements in the 2013 rankings with respect to course design, faculty, teaching materials and preparation. Henley also performed well in meeting the challenges of achieving successful diversity in business today; having a 40% female contingent places Henley in the 24th spot in the world.

With campuses and offices in South Africa, Hong Kong, Germany and Finland, and a new campus being built in Malaysia, as well as having worked for many years with an established network of overseas agents in 14 countries, this year Henley has been placed 28th in the world and number two in the UK for the number of programmes run outside the UK.

Executive education programmes

"Henley Africa has recently added several new executive education programmes to its offering," says Foster-Pedley. "We now have a Global Executive Development programme, Executive Coaching and Neuro-linguistic programme," he says. "Over the next few months, we shall be running our Finance for Non-financial Managers programme in various African countries, starting in Botswana. In addition, we are soon starting the first in a series of programmes run by the recently launched Henley Real Estate Centre Africa."

In the individual rankings, Henley Business School is positioned at 40th for open enrolment programmes and 44th for customised programmes. It improved its position within the customised programme rankings in three categories: follow-up after the course (placed 15th in the world), programme preparation, and international clients. Henley's international clients placed it in the top 20 of international business schools for executive education. The open and customised programmes are combined into a 'world top 50' ranking in which Henley is placed 38th.
