Daryl Nero exhibit at the Grand Gallery
Inspired by his travels and wildlife encounters through Africa, Nero uses the traditional means of oil on canvas, acrylic and chalk on card, and watercolours in his artwork.
Born in Pietermaritzburg, Nero graduated from the University of Natal before attending the Croydon College of Art in the UK. On returning to Africa in 1974, Nero explored the southern and eastern parts extensively, before finally settling in Zimbabwe.
African wildlife signature pieces
Since then he has built up a reputation within the art world and has exhibited and sold his works in London and the United States, with his signature pieces being African wildlife and animated buildings inspired by his love for the grandeur of European architecture.
"My primary inspiration comes from the rural beauty of Africa," Nero said. "I blend abstract images with vibrant colours that come alive and translate a meaningful story about every special destination that I have visited."
Nero's art will be displayed throughout the Grand Gallery Boadicea, Granger Bay, Cape Town.
