This year's festival will have the Hooters Comedy Tent making its debut with an even bigger showcase of the hottest, funniest and most original stand-up comics on the South African circuit.

"The Hooters Comedy Tent will feature some of the best comedy acts in the country, as well as a beer garden and fully equipped restaurant with our fun loving, vivacious Hooters girls at your service," said James Champion, national events manager of Hooters.

Included on the bill are DSOC comedians Simmi Areff, Glen Bo, Robby Collins, Dusty Rich, Jem Atkins and Lil Paul. Joining them are Johannesburg's Alyn Adams, Warren Robertson, Vittorio Leonardi, Shaun Wewege and Hannes Brummer (a.k.a. The Flying Dutchman), as well as Cape Town's Martin Evans and UK comedian Martin Davis.

Cutting-edge, intelligent comedy

DSOC's Glen Bo said: "This line-up has been hand picked to bring cutting-edge, intelligent comedy to crowds who like to think and aren't afraid of having their boundaries stretched a little, all the while enjoying a non-stop, roll-in-the-aisles, good old-fashioned laugh."

He added that while there are few taboos in terms of material, comedy routines that sail closest to the wind will be reserved for the late-night shows.

There will also be more than 80 top live music acts on two stages, a wide variety of food and drink outlets, loads of fun outdoor activities, colourful arts and crafts, as well as a vibrant new Freestyle Tribal Village.

Tickets cost R500 at Computicket and selected Game stores. The price includes camping for the entire festival. For more information, go to www.splashyfen.co.za or phone +27 (0)31 563 0824.
