Award-winning artists like The Parlotones, Prime Circle, Freshly Ground, Danny K and Arno Carstens will be featured alongside new talents, such as Jack Parow, Thembi Seete, Liquideep and La Vuvuzela. Audiences can also expect to hear the lyrical talents of Loyiso, Denim and HHP, featuring PJ Powers.
"Over the past 12 months the South African music industry has boomed. Not only have new artists entered the industry, but existing bands have grown from strength to strength," said 94.7 Highveld Stereo station manager, Ravi Naidoo. "This is why we've opted to give audiences a completely new music experience, highlighting the great work of home-grown artists."
Along with these top performers, the winner of Homebrew's unsigned band competition, The Homebrew Road to Joburg Day, will make their debut. Homebrew is a weekly feature on the station, which celebrates and promotes local music exclusively and the competition not only strives to unearth new talent, but also gives bands the opportunity to promote themselves.
Children's entertainment will be available and food on the day will be provided by various vendors.
Safe and secure public parking for the event will be available inside Riversands farm.
Tickets to this year's Joburg Day cost R200 for adults, R70 for children under 12, and are available from Computicket.
