Old Mutual Encounters Concerts presents classical delight

Old Mutual Encounters Concerts is thrilled to announce their Johannesburg Festival Orchestra, conducted by Richard Cock and leading soloists show happening on Sunday, 3 May at the ambient setting of Emmarentia Dam, Johannesburg Botanic Gardens.

Audiences can definitely witness a top-class and breath-taking performance from the Johannesburg Festival Orchestra, which shall be conducted by Richard Cock. Formed in 1998, the Johannesburg Festival Orchestra, have set a high standard with their top-class and breath-taking shows. The Orchestra has performed with the likes of Sarah Brightman, Pavarotti, Birmingham Royal Ballet, Helmut Lotti, Joshua Bell, to name only a few.

Richard Cock, who studied at the British Royal School of Church Music, has been the Director of Music at the Cathedral Choir School in Chichester, an SABC producer and Director of Music at St. Mary's Cathedral. He is also the Director and Founder of the Chanticleer Singers and the Symphony Choir of Johannesburg. Richard Cock, along with the Johannesburg Festival Orchestra shall certainly create a music combination to whet the aural appetite.

Tickets are available via www.tunegum.com for R50 and at the gate R70. Children under the age of 16 may enter for free. Patrons are urged to buy tickets before the time as if a concert is rained out, the ticket may be used for any of the other Encounters Shows at Emmarentia Dam for the same monetary value. Also, please remember that no alcohol, glass or cans will be allowed into the venue - there is a fully stocked bar on site.
