Cape Town Concert Series subscriptions are on sale
The season includes recitals by Czech pianist Lukáš Vondrácek on 14 March (presented by the Cape Town Concert Series Kramer Jubilee Trust), the Juliet String Quartet on 25 April, bassoonist-raconteur Lecolian Washington and pianist Luis Magalhães on 9 May in a programme of African-American works, and cellist Anzel Gerber with pianist Ben Schoeman on 13 June.
As part of the Concert Series' 60-year celebration, there will also be a special concert with pianist Spencer Myer at the Hugo Lambrechts Concert Hall presented in collaboration with the Hugo Lambrechts Music Trust. Patrons attending both the Vondrácek and Myer recitals will be able to add this to their subscription at a discounted price.
Discount on the door price
Season tickets attract a discount on the door price of R150 (R180 for the Vondrácek recital), bringing the cost of five concerts plus the Myer recital to R740 and R620 without. The proceeds from the Myer and Vondrácek recitals will go directly to the respective trusts, which ensure the sustainability of the Concert Series and the Lambrechts Centre. One subscriber, new or renewing, will go into a draw to win a pair of tickets to the Beethoven Triple Concerto performed by the Yablonsky Trio on 9 April.
All concerts take place on Saturdays at the Baxter Concert Hall at 8pm, with the exception of the Spencer Myer concert on Sunday, 15 March, at 4pm, at the Hugo Lambrechts Music Centre, Parow. Tickets for individual concerts at R150 are available at Computicket and concessions for senior citizens R130. Single seats go on sale on 13 January, 2015. Concessions are available for pensioners and block bookings. Student tickets are available at the door subject to availability.
