Schultze replaces Galizzi on CT International Ballet Comp panel
Schultze replaces Mario Galizzi who was unable to arrive in Cape Town as scheduled due to flight delays.
Johannesburg-born Schultze studied with Faith de Villiers, David Poole and Vera Volkova and was a founding member of Johannesburg City Ballet. She has been guest teacher for The Royal Ballet, Australian Ballet, PACT Ballet, Cape Town City Ballet, Nevada Ballet Theatre, Ballet Mississippi, Ballet Memphis, Richmond Ballet, New National Ballet, Tokyo, Orlando Ballet and South African Ballet Theatre. She has been on the faculty of Boston Ballet's summer programme for nine years, is a Fellow of the Imperial Society of Teachers of Dancing and currently teaches at the Cape Academy of Performing Arts. She judged at the USA International Ballet Competition in 2002, 2006 and 2010 and was a judge at the SA International Ballet Competition in 2008.
Lynn Wallis is jury chair
Joining Schultze on the jury is Kevin O'Hare, director-designate of The Royal Ballet who takes up his appointment as director of the legendary British ballet company later this year; Dr Ramona da Sáa, Director and Professor at the National Ballet School of Cuba; Leticia Müller, former ballerina of Birmingham Royal Ballet in the UK and PACT Ballet; and Lynn Wallis, artistic director of the Royal Academy of Dance in London. Wallis will be the jury chair.
Returning judges are Septime Webre, artistic director of The Washington Ballet, Washington DC; Hae Shik Kim, Professor Emeritus, Korea National University of Arts, Chairman of the Korea Ballet Festival and Chairman of the Korea World Dance Day and SA born Charla Genn, faculty member at the Julliard School in New York.
