Wahi will be displaying her latest range of ready to wear clothing. Besides a dedicated clientele in Toronto, Canada, her line of one-of-a-kind, fusion pieces are available in select boutiques in the UAE, with South Africa to follow in the coming months.

Twenty-four shows, five cities, three continents and she is only twenty-two. Her journey has been documented via features in print publications such as: Forbes Africa, Gulf News, Masala Magazine (Dubai) Ottawa Citizen, Television: Rogers Daytime, CTV Ottawa, Sony TV, CNBC Africa and various fashion and lifestyle blogs such as Urbanebloc.com, pop champagne, and jmode.com.

"I was brought up in Dubai. I then moved to Canada for six years and am now based between Johannesburg and Dubai. Although by passport I am Indian, I have never lived there - so I consider myself a global fashion nomad. As a result, my collection reflects a number of personalities.

"You can expect simple, no-fuss silhouettes that are commercially viable, yet of high cut and fashion. Batik from Bali, printed jerseys from the Philippines, embroideries from India, and hand beadwork from Bangladesh have been sourced and combined with crepes, chiffons and neoprene fabrics, which gives the collection an edgy but culture-rich feel.

"So while it is full of vibrancy and youth in terms of its colours, I feel like it is still quite mature and sophisticated in its look, cut and feel," she concludes.
