Pick n Pay has introduced a new service that allows motorists to renew car licences in-store instead of standing in long queues at traffic departments and post offices.

Outstanding fines blocking the renewal of a licence can also be paid as part of the service. According to the retailer, a licence disk will be sent within 10 business days to any address in South Africa.
Three steps to renew your licence at Pick n Pay:
- The first step is to register either at a Pick n Pay till or on the retailer's vehicle licence disc online renewal online portal.
- The second step requires you to step up a profile and payment on the portal and then choose to pay in-store.
- Lastly, pay the required amount in-store by providing your cellphone number as a payment reference.
Make sure you have uploaded the required documentation and captured the address you would like the disc to be delivered to on the portal.
You can then set up a payment for your vehicle licence renewal and select to make payment in a Pick n Pay store.
“Your vehicle licence disc renewal payment will include the following, which is automatically added to your payment amount: the amount for the licence renewal, a licence disc renewal admin fee of R345 (including VAT) and a delivery fee of R99 (including VAT),” said Pick n Pay.
The delivery fee is included in the total payment amount for the disc renewal.
