Organiser pronounces Destination Expo a success

The first Cape Town Destinations Expo, to promote southern African destinations, tourism and travel products, was held at the Cape Town Convention Centre from 22 to 25 October 2009.

Chris de Klerk from Cadek Media, the organiser of the show, said: "The focus and goal is to promote southern African destinations, tourism and travel products to the tourism trade, leisure trade, corporate and business travel decision makers, as well as holiday travellers in the Western Cape. Capetonians love to travel and with the current economic downturn, holidaymakers take shorter breaks closer to home.”

He added: “Considering that the first expo was organised in a time of recession, we are very happy with the results we achieved in our first year. We look forward to expanding and attracting more exhibitors, sponsors and visitors in 2010. Destinations 2010 will be one of the first travel events after the 2010 FIFA World Cup and offers the perfect podium for the travel and leisure industry to re-focus after the World Cup.”

The 2010 Destinations Expo will be held from 19 to 22 August 2010 at the Cape Town International Convention Centre. More details from www.destinationsexpo.co.za.
