Volleyball

This year’s event will feature volleyball matches between South Africa’s best volleyball players. There will also be slots where the public can play against each other.

Travel and taste

The Travel and Taste Theatre will offer travel and food experiences as well as cooking sessions with famous chefs. This year, Getaway magazine deputy editor Tyson Jopson will share his best photo tips and top photography from previous Getaway assignments.

Food

Food trucks, a deli area, and a number of exhibitor stands will showcase artisanal foods. Participating food trucks include Engine 69, The Bohemian Pizza Truck, and Pitmasters.

Shopping

Experts will assist with travel packages, camping gear, caravans, and other adventure gear and clothing.

Kids corner

Younger attendees will get the opportunity to play with parachute rockets, a paintball shooting tunnel, and pedal go-karts.

Getaway Braai-Off

Braai enthusiasts, young and old, can compare their skills in this year’s Getaway Braai-Off Junior and the Getaway Braai-Off Potjiekos competition.

Live music and adventure area

A climbing wall and laser shooting in the adventure area will offer excitement times to those seeking a thrill. While others, hoping to relax, can hang out in the beer tent and enjoy live music from local acts.

Getaway wildlife photography workshop

The Getaway wildlife and landscape photography workshop is a one-day wildlife and landscape photography essentials workshop. It will be presented by Big 5 Photos and include entry to the Gauteng Getaway Show 2017.
