'Gentleman-monster' Daniel Gillies will be at Comic Con Africa 2019

Vampire Diaries and The Originals fans rejoice! Elijah, or Daniel Gillies, will be one of the international celebrity guests at Comic Con Africa 2019.

Gillies, or the ‘gentleman-monster’ as he humorously refers to himself, is a Canadian-born New Zealand actor, best known for his role as Elijah Mikaelson on the hit TV series, The Vampire Diaries and its spin-off, The Originals.

He also played Dr Joel Goran on the Canadian series, Saving Hope; a medical-themed show with a mystical, paranormal twist.

He recently starred as Robert Durst in Lifetime’s, The Lost Wife of Robert Durst, and also played Kristen Dunst’s love interest in Spider-Man 2. In 2006, Daniel had the lead in Sensation of Sight opposite David Strathairn.

Not only is this ‘gentleman-monster’ a prominent actor, but he’s been making waves as a director in the industry too; Gillies wrote, directed and produced Broken Kingdom as well as the documentary, Kingdom Come.
