Proteas still winning!

Yesterday saw the Proteas extend their winning streak to seven in total against India. Let's not get too over confident but it does seem like payback time for Australia who we have previously drawn to in the 2007 ICC Tournament. I refuse to mention any further details about that tournament; its best left forgotten.
Proteas still winning!

All the big teams are out (including the Ozzy's) and South Africa is in a perfect position to take the T20 World Cup. They already have beaten all the teams that made it through to the semi-finals in previous games so things are looking hopeful. Perhaps finally our S.A Rugby team won't be alone in being SA's main sporting champions. Yes I know I shouldn't count my chickens before they hatch but Australia has done so, so why can't I?

Back to yesterday's game... Well done to AB Devilliers with his half century he is definitely on his way to becoming a cricket legend, as well as JP Duminy. The destructive Devilliers made 63 off 51 balls, using only 41 balls to get his half century. Proteas skipper Smith chipped in as well with a respectable 26 off 26 balls.

Well done to the Indian spinners for “almost” stopping us; Harbhajan Singh taking the wicket of Smith and Suresh Raina taking the wicket of JP Duminy.

After South Africa put up 130 runs it was India's turn to bat. Openers, Gautam Gambhir and Rohit Sharma put up a good fight of 48 runs off 38 balls. But Botha stepped in and took Gambhir's wicket with a catch from Duminy at deep cover. After that it was all downhill for India, at one stage they lost three wickets for eight runs in twenty two balls.

After a last gasp attempt by sixth-wicket partnership of 31 runs off 23 balls between Yuvraj Singh and Harbhajan Singh, India's hopes for a semi-final spot were brought to a halt.

All in all it was a brilliant performance by both teams. Next we see South Africa taking on Pakistan who has a point to prove after already losing to the Proteas.
