Brazil crushes Italy
It took Brazil exactly eight minutes to score three goals! This is the first time Italy conceded three goals in the first half. With United States unexpectedly also scoring three goals against Egypt this pushed Italy as well as Egypt themselves out of the Confed Cup. Now it's Brazil against South Africa!
"We showed today that we were superior in all aspects of the game. We beat the world champions and we did it in an efficient way," said Dunga.
"We tried to have a balanced approach, keep possession of the ball as much as possible. I told the players they have to concentrate and score goals because that is what throws the other team out of kilter." Dunga added.
It was not at all a “world champions” performance by Italy, probably because all of them are close to being grandfathers. People say experience beats youth, then why didn't Italy go through last night! Robinho and Kaka was the catalyst to each Brazilian counter attack and probably will be against Bafana.
Only when Simone Pepe, Giuseppe Rossi and Alberto Gilardino was brought on Italy showed signs of hope but it was all too late. Even though Brazil was three up they kept attacking hungry for more (I hope that hunger dies against Bafana), with a few more chances near the end of the game.
Well I'm not getting my hopes up when Bafana faces Brazil but I can dream can't I?
