Mokoena finishes second in Glasgow

Athletics South Africa announced that South Africa's Khotso Mokoena finished second in the long jump at the Aviva International Indoor meeting in Glasgow, Scotland, on Saturday.

Mokoena, the reigning world indoor champion, leapt to a distance of 7,92m to finish behind Sweden's Michel Torneus who achieved a career best distance of 7,95m.

Mokoena, silver medallist at the Beijing Olympic Games last year, struggled to find his rhythm and started with two no jumps. He could only secure his second place with his last jump and was trailing Torneus throughout the competition. His other jumps in the competition measured 7, 42m, 7,79m and 7,84m.
