DJs to usher in new year in Soweto
So, four years ago he decided the best way to appreciate his good fortune was to throw the mother of all parties for his community in Meadowlands, Soweto, on New Year's Day.
The Ndofaya Year Party, which has become an annual event at Zone 2 Park, Meadowlands, is something not to miss.
It is a free party that he and his friend George Phiri, also from Meadowlands, have been financing.
So on January 1 all roads lead to the same venue, where there will be an impressive line-up to ring in the new year.
“We still need more sponsors to make sure this party rocks, just like it has done in the past four years.
"George and I have been paying for hosting this gig. This year we will have 10 DJs and five artists performing.”
When it comes to his own career Ganyani, who is one of the most popular and leading club DJs in the country, said though this year was rocked by the recession, business has been good for him.
“Last year was not as great as this year. Since February I have had gigs, getting booked everywhere,” Ganyani said.
DJs in the line-up include Tokzen, D.O.C and Socks, while artists include Spikiri and Skoko.
