Calendar of events publication for SA
Festival Calendar Publishing has launched eventsNOW!, a quarterly which offers the South African consumer a calendar of events countrywide. Says Lindsay Owen, MD of Festival Calendar, “There is a wealth of events taking place in the country. This publication, for the first time ever, draws all of these together comprehensively and accurately for the public.”
Featuring events taking place in every province in the country from food to wine and beverages, sport, kids' activities, expos and festivals, adventure, art, flowers and gardening, comedy, theatre and music, eventsNOW! provides information around these events.
Not only is the date, time and place where the event is taking place given, but also how much the event will cost and who you can contact to find out more and also to book. Information is then also provided on the actual event; giving the reader the opportunity to understand the event better and make the decision to attend or not. Useful information, such as what parking facilities are available at what cost, if any, or whether the event is child-friendly, is also given.
In addition, eventsNOW! also features a number of events by highlighting these through editorial that is informative and educational. For example, the launch issue features an article on how to taste wine which relates to the number of wine festivals taking place this winter. There is also a feature on oysters: how to open and eat (or slurp) your oyster, in relation to the Pick n Pay Knysna Oyster Festival.
There are also a number of competitions, giving readers the opportunity to win tickets and trips to attend the events.
The winter issue of eventsNOW! is available at selected CNA and Exclusive Books, as well as other book stores countrywide, from 2 June 2008, retailing at R34.95.
Festival Calendar Publishing is headed up by Owen and Belinda Trenti.
