Call for nominations for the Oscars of business

Topco Media has just issued the call for nominations for this year's prestigious National Business Awards event to be held at the Sandton Convention Centre on 28 May 2008. Now in its fifth year, the Awards are presented in association with the annual publications SA's Top Performing Companies and SA's Top 500 Companies to recognise and honour the top performers of the year in both business and industry, for individuals and companies.

Previous winners comprise South Africa's most dynamic personalities and organisations including Patrice Motsepe (Harmony Gold); Tokyo Sexwale (Mvelphanda Holdings); Maria Ramos (Transnet); Wendy Lucus-Bull (First Rand); and Monhla Hlahla (Airports Company South Africa), to name a few.

And now it is time to give back. For the first time, Topco Media, together with the event's sponsors, will be creating study grants and bursaries which will be awarded to specially selected PDI students to cover their tuition costs for a year or more. There are 16 category winners – and therefore 16 students will receive this wonderful opportunity to further and excel on their chosen path for the future. In association with the University of Stellenbosch; Wits (University of Johannesburg); and UNISA; Topco will identify our future industry leaders to receive these study grants.
