Competition aims to find next-generation fashionistas

Top fashion school, LISOF, street-style brand Soviet and TeenZone magazine have launched a competition aimed at 16-year-old students from LISOF's top-100 feeder schools who are keen to pursue a career in fashion - be it as designers, stylists or fashion photographers.

The collaboration is to launch a competition whereby teams of 16-year-olds will work with the fashion school's second-year students to produce garments for a series of fashion shoots that capture being “sassy and 16” as part of the school's annual commercial design project with a major fashion brand. The finalist teams of 16-year-olds will style up 5FM DJs for photo shoots that will appear in TeenZone magazine, as well as at Soviet stores, and the public will be able to vote for its favourite shoot. The winning team will be announced during the Sanlam SA Fashion Week Winter Collections in September.
