NG Kids to be published in Afrikaans
From September 2006, 8 Ink Media's children's magazine National Geographic Kids will be available in Afrikaans. Worldwide, National Geographic Kids is published in 12 languages and incorporating Afrikaans will make it 13 officially.
Says NG Kids editor Fiona Thomson; "The fantastic response we've received from both readers and parents, has prompted us to open up the magazine to wider audience. From a children's magazine perspective this is an SA first and we look forward to welcoming even more readers to our amazing world of edutainment!"
On sale from 6 September this year, the Afrikaans edition will be a direct translation of the English version and will offer readers a mix of animal facts, world wonders and incredible science.
Both editions will increase the September print run to nearly 53 000, of which the Afrikaans edition will comprise 15 000 copies.
