The course was delivered by leading global LTE technology experts and focused on LTE network architecture overview, air interface, end-to-end call processing, troubleshooting and culminated in a live network and real data performance workshop.
The customised training programme was developed in partnership with the Mict Seta, which co-funded the initiative as part of its national skills-development mandate.
"This is a significant step forward for Atio and our customers deploying LTE. It also represents a success story for the Mict Seta programme," said Tim Courtenay, MD of Atio Telecoms division. "LTE is rolling out faster on a global basis than anyone predicted. Its growth rate outstrips 3G or HSPA technologies when they were launched. LTE has been designed as an all-IP system; however, for it to reach its full potential requires proper mobile network design and management. Atio is playing a key role in this space and we will continue to work with our new and existing operator customer base, to ensure that customers receive an optimal experience when using LTE."
