All set for the IT Leaders Africa Summit
Every year, the two-day event aims to offer a unique meeting place for IT and business leaders alike. Shannon Mackrill, joint MD of event organiser Kinetic, said the summit is designed for the key people who are essential in aligning IT with business priorities. Going beyond the usual routine business conference, the team at Kinetic has evolved the event to deliver a more exciting, topical, trendy and current platform, utilising both the latest technologies coupled with the latest in conference trends internationally.
"The event provides an exciting platform to engage and network with like-minded individuals within the African IT industry. Among many of the benefits we offer at the summit each year, we also deliver an eclectic mix of topical discussions that is comprehensively researched, panel overviews and demonstrations coupled with technology workshops that successfully deliver on industry expectations," said Mackrill.
Expert-led advisory panel
An expert-led advisory panel will lead the summit, delivering exceptional leadership, implementing insight as well as contributions from a regional and global perspective, contributing to the creation of a platform where the 'meeting of minds' can happen. This panel features industry giants Robert Sussman, co-founder and joint-CEO of Integr8; Hugo Timmerman, Head of IT southern Africa at British American Tobacco; and Tunde Coker, MD of Rack Centre.
The summit features over 35 speakers, keynotes, panel discussions and numerous educational workshop sessions hosted by key industry providers. All sessions will be led by some of today's most notable individuals who are shaping the IT landscape in South Africa and beyond.
Speakers include: David Visser, CIO of Coca-Cola southern Africa; Anthony Hlungwane, Group IT Director of Mr Price Group; Sal Laher, CIO of Eskom; Rocky Gwewera, Global Head of Infrastructure Architecture of Sasol; Stephan Ekbergh, CEO and founder of Travelstart; and Sunil Joshi, MD and CEO of Neotel.
An overview of the CIO's role
This year, the agenda will feature an overview of the CIO's role in implementing the enterprise strategy focusing on threats to business connectivity, what your network security framework looks like from the inside, as well as e-commerce and securing the payments space. In addition to these topical conversations, attendees can look forward to gaining insight into collaboration tools that connect people inside and outside the enterprise along with a look into the disruptive forces that are challenging the way CIOs plan IT for their organisations.
