    BMI-TechKnowledge reaffirms its independence

Recently, FoneWorx - a telecommunications and IT solutions provider - acquired a 35% stake in BMI Research for an undisclosed amount. Due to the BMI prefix and FoneWorx being involved in the ICT sector, BMI-TechKnowledge (BMI-T) wishes to clarify its independence and position and to avoid any unnecessary confusion.

"In our industry, we are also known as BMI occasionally. Naturally, when our customers see a press release stating 'FoneWorx has acquired a stake in BMI', it may create confusion that we're no longer independent," says BMI-T director, Denis Smit.

"As a premier research company in the IT industry for over 23 years, it is crucially important for BMI-T to remain a firmly independent, trusted and respected research and advisory partner. By doing so, we will be able to continue providing our clients with valuable information, strategic advice, and dependable assistance to help them implement those strategies effectively."

Smit explains there is some history that links the two BMI companies. "All of the BMI companies originated from a mother company called BMI 25 years ago. Over time, it was unbundled and numerous parties created various businesses out of it - and kept the BMI prefix. So, even though we share similar origins, we are vastly different companies."

Smit concludes, "We hope that any confusion has now been resolved, and would like to take this opportunity to wish BMI Research luck on its new venture with FoneWorx."
