Festival of Fame 2014 calls for proposals

The National School of the Arts is calling for proposals for Festival of Fame 2014: "Generation Imagination", which runs from 24 February to 2 March 2014.

Calling all actors, dancers, singers, musicians, artists, painters, sculptors, performance artists, designers, producers, directors, publicists, technicians, front-of-house managers, theatre-makers, rock stars, movers, groovers and shakers! Whatever your talent, whatever your vision, The National School of the Arts wants to hear your idea for next year's festival programme.

Applications and proposals for productions and events are currently being accepted for the Festival of Fame (FOF) 2014. NSA learners and teachers, as well as any professional artists and companies, are invited to apply.

Guidelines

Preference will be given to productions that meet the following guidelines:

  • Originality. Is your production fresh and imaginative?
  • Does your production appeal to a young audience?
  • If you are an NSA learner, is your production inter-disciplinary? By this we mean: Does your production use learners from more than one department. For example: art learners designing sets for drama learners. Or dance learners performing with music learners. FOF 2014 strongly encourages cross-collaboration between the art, dance, drama and music departments.
  • Does your production have a strong creative and technical team to support it? Your application should be accompanied by a production schedule that outlines rehearsals, budget, roles and responsibilities and a well-thought-out plan on how to achieve excellence.
  • Are you passionate about your project and will it make the NSA proud to present it?
  • If you are a professional artist/company, preference will be given to productions/workshops/events that aim to involve the NSA and our learners as much as possible. Please consider what this involvement could be when writing your motivational statement.
