MWEB partners with Silulo Ulutho Technologies

MWEB has launched their 25th store after signing a partnership with Silulo Ulutho Technologies in Ngcobo in the Eastern Cape. The launch took place late last month, celebrating the success of the partnership in providing full computer training service centres to emerging market communities.

"We believe strongly in the difference internet connectivity can make in rural communities. Tackling the shortage of skills we have in South Africa through technology and innovation will assist in job creation," said MWEB CEO Derek Hershaw. Silulo's training centres provide computer access and computer training amongst other IT services to those who wouldn't ordinarily have access to these services.

Opportunity is valued

Founder of Silulo Ulutho Technologies, Luvuyo Rani has trained over 10,000 students across the Western and Eastern Cape, and together with MWEB, Silulo aims to encourage entrepreneurship in an effort to combat unemployment. "The students in our communities value the opportunity we provide for them and understand just how important it is to have computer skills training and knowledge of how the internet works so that they can better their future," said Rani.

Over the past few years, Silulo Ulutho Technologies has become the most trusted service provider in the areas in which it operates. The Ngcobo store has already enrolled 89 students since opening in July with aims to have over 300 students by this time next year. "We are committed to driving education around the internet," said Hershaw. "It can open so many doors for individuals, and partnering with Silulo Ulutho Technologies has enabled us to be a part of a significant and sustainable growth strategy."
